Custom Bent Mahogany and Oak Windows
This landmark building is one of three remaining 19th century townhouses bordering Central Park in NYC. The exterior of the building was meticuoulsy restored under the skillful direction of Ray Pepi and his team at Building Conservation Associates. Wood Window Workshop made the double hung wood windows to match the originals in almost every detail except for the introduction of laminated and insulated glass in the flat units added to improve their energy performance and to attenuate sound.

Adhering strictly to the requirements of restoration architects, Building Convservation Associates of NYC, Wood Window Workshop built these Bay windows in Quarter Sawn White Oak. Bent Glass is 1/4" laminated. Flat Glass is Laminated and Insulated. Sash are 2 1/4" thick and counterbalanced with a traditional weight and pulley system consisting of cast iron weights, brass pulleys and copper dipped steel chain. |
Flat Double Hung Windows Feature Laminated, Insulated Glass. The laminated glass on the outboard light of the IG unit has a .060 interlayer to give it extra strength and attenuate sound. |
